The weekend of February 8/9 our SMS debate club competed at our first tournament. In total, we took home 16 medals. Some highlights include 2nd place in our beginner division as a team, 6th grader Sergio Condello took home first overall speaker in the novice division, 6th graders Carolyn Zuo and Brady Hoggatt earned 1st place as a team in the novice division, and 6th grader Nathan Jacob was 2nd place overall speaker in the beginner division.
