Clubs & Activities

  • South Middle School offers a variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities.  These complement curriculum and attempt to meet the needs of middle school students.  The activities encourage students to participate in enjoyable undertakings.  They reinforce and expand upon special interests and talents of students.

Some activities take place during the school day primarily, but not exclusively.  Examples of such activities are:  Student Organization (S.O.), the school newspaper, chorus, orchestra, and band.

Other activities take place exclusively after school.  These activities include club programs, intramurals, and interscholastic sports.

Club offerings can potentially grow through the school year.  Clubs are frequently suggested by students themselves.  Faculty members stimulate interest and provide supervision.

Extracurricular activities are announced on the morning news show during homeroom period.  The day and time of meeting of some activities may be subject to change.
